Moving forward by giving back, StoneMakers will be donating the labor and materials to construct a resort style waterfall for the SAY Sí youth art center in San Antonio, TX.  On Tuesday February 21, 2011, David Montoya, President and Founder of Stonemakers, will be hosting a live demonstration for the new Ledgefalls System for resort style water features.  This is part of a renovation project coordinated by the Concrete Décor Show, being held that week.

StoneMakers will be exhibiting at the Concrete Decor Show on Feb. 20-24, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas.  Now in its third year the event focuses on the hands-on training and continuing education decorative concrete contractors and specialty artisans need to improve their knowledge and skills and expand their business opportunities.

A backyard waterfall is both relaxing and invigorating.  The sound of rushing water rolling over the rocks has an almost magical calming effect.  As the water cascades over the swimming pool waterfall into the body of water it’s a beautiful scene.  Maintaining the clarity of the water is simple if you follow some basic water chemistry principles.

New for 2012, Stonemakers has engineered an innovative panel system for creating swimming pool waterfalls, backyard waterfalls and commercial water features.  Created with molds from New Hampshire mountain ledge rock, the patent pending LedgeFalls System for waterfalls allows swimming pool and hardscape contractors the opportunity to create custom, realistic water features in days, not weeks.

A retaining wall is known as a section of wall that's put into place to landscape the side of a sloping lawn. Sometimes they are added to simply maintain the area from eroding or washing away due to weather. These retaining walls may well be made from concrete, large rocks, decorative slabs or even railroad ties.

Swimming pool waterfalls will add an affect of drama to an otherwise mundane inground swimming pool. In addition to the form and style of a typical pool itself, the location of your pool and the surrounding landscape can play a factor in deciding which type of waterfall best matches the swimming pool. Waterfalls can connect two separate pools, add a touch of nature while masking something very unnatural or make the horizon indistinguishable from the pool itself.
